ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE SERVICES
Cultural Education and Enrichment
'Anamatangi believes in Environmental Justice. The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, or income with respect to the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies. These examples include inadequate access to healthy food, inadequate health care, inadequate transportation, air and water pollution, and unsafe homes.
‘Anamatangi as a change agent at its core believes in Social Justice! These core principles are: social justice; equity, access, participation and rights. We advocate for full and equal participation of all groups in a society that is mutually shaped to meet their needs. Social justice includes a vision of society in which the distribution of resources is equitable and all members are physically and psychologically safe and secure.
On so many levels we as Pacific Islanders realize that we cannot do challenge-change alone and collaborate with many agencies and organizations. In collaboration with agencies across San Mateo and Santa Clara county, Youth United For Community Action (YUCA Peninsula, EPA ), Youth for Community Service (YCS, Palo Alto) , Action Plan for a Healthy Planet (ACTERRA, Peninsula, Palo Alto), One East Palo Alto, Nuestra Casa, El Concilio of San Mateo County, the East Palo Alto Jr. Golf Team, Bayshore Christian Ministry, Rebuilding Together, and dozens of faith based organizations and churches.
