Executive Director Message
Malo e lelei, community!
Families and villages impacted by the January 15 seismic volcano eruption that destroyed Tonga’s homes and agriculture will be receiving our collective generosity. With the help of more than 200 donors, we collected $1.2 million USD in medical supplies and food to Tonga, with love. On behalf of ‘Anamatangi Polynesian Voices, thank you.
We are especially prepared to deepen our partnerships on both sides of the Pacific as we commence the second leg of this effort, which comes at a time of global economic, environmental and political interest in the South Pacific.
To California’s elected officials who believe in us - thank you. A special thank you to UPS Foundation for providing safe transit for our emergency supplies, from Ontario, California to Fua’amotu International Airport.
Our next step: distribute supplies to the Tongan people. Our ground operations team in Tonga will handle the distribution of goods in order to assure that the individuals in need of essential supplies get what they need.Stay tuned for updates and photos as Mama Dee, Papa Senter, Tonga Victoria and I embark on the journey to Tonga.
With great gratitude,
Tiffany ‘Uhilamoelangi-Hautau Executive Director, Anamatangi Polynesian Voices
